What is a Landing Page?

In digital marketing, a landing page is a standalone web page, created specifically for the purposes of a marketing or advertising campaign. It’s where a visitor “lands” when they have clicked on a Google AdWords ad or a similar link on an social media platform. 

Landing pages are designed with a single focused objective – known as a Call to Action (CTA). In other words, “Buy Now” or “Order Now” .

It is important to understand that a Landing Page is not a home page and it should not be considered part of your main web site. This page specifically desgined to be the destination after a vistor clicks a link in one of your online marketing campaigns.  

You can then try to convert them into a customer by combining the two most powerful communication tools a marketer has – email and landing pages.

A Lead Generation Page is another example of a landing page and it is designed to capture sales leads via an email form. The most valuable piece of information you can get from a lead generation page is a visitors email address.

A Click Through Page is designed to provide more information about your product or service before a Call to Action takes place.
